Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of artists and technicians in the creation and optimization of digital assets for use in visual effects projects.
  • Collaborate closely with the production team to understand project requirements, timelines, and resource allocations.
  • Establish and maintain efficient workflows and pipeline processes for asset creation, review, and delivery.
  • Provide artistic and technical guidance to the team, ensuring consistency and quality across all assets.
  • Conduct regular reviews and feedback sessions to ensure that assets meet project specifications and client expectations.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and provide solutions to optimize asset production and delivery.
  • Mentor and train junior artists to develop their skills and foster a collaborative and supportive work environment.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, tools, and techniques to improve asset production processes continuously and quality standards.


Job Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Graphics, Animation, Visual Effects, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
Proven experience (5+ years supervising others) working in a senior or supervisory role in the VFX industry, with a strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in asset creation and management.
In-depth knowledge of industry-standard software tools and pipelines for asset creation, such as Maya, ZBrush, Substance Painter, etc.
Strong understanding of digital asset management systems and workflows.
Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team to deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

  • Develop techniques and tools to produce elements for compositing and rendering then support them throughout production.

Job Requirements
  •  2+ years of production experience with working knowledge of FX production pipelines.

  • Reel showing proficiency creating FX Simulations in Houdini and/or Maya.

  • Experience with dynamic systems, including destruction techniques, particle systems, rigid body dynamics, volume rendering, cloth, fluid dynamics and other advanced techniques for the creation of natural phenomena and other visual effects.

  • Strong application scripting skills, with solid programming skills in Python.  Knowledge with one or more additional scripting languages required: Maya Mel, C++, HScript, VEX, HDK, Maya API.

  • Linux experience is required.

  • Renderman and Katana experience.

  • Background in Art and traditional animation.

    CPA designation or equivalent qualification is preferred or working towards your designation.
    Proven experience as a Production Accountant in the VFX industry.
    In-depth knowledge of tax credits and incentives related to film and television production in Canada.
    Strong proficiency in financial modeling and analysis.
